Black Friday Deals that Get Me Hot
I’m not really into making comprehensive gift or shopping guides (I’m too lazy), but here’s an edited collection of the sales I’ll be watching on Black Friday and Cyber Monday. If you’d like comprehensive beauty deal roundups, check out Racked‘s and Temptalia‘s guides — both sites I gladly support.
Ebates: receive cash back when shopping online for beauty (and other things) at stores like Sephora, Nordstrom, and eBay. You can get cash back on top of the discounts listed here.
bkr: This isn’t Black Friday exactly, but the silicone-wrapped glass water bottle company is having a 25%-off Friends and Family sale until midnight Monday, November 20 with code LOVED2017. (Did anyone actually love 2017? I feel like that code is a bit…off.) The code doesn’t work on value sets or their 500 collection. The brand sent me two bkrs earlier this year and I loved them so much that I bought two more for the office. I’ve cut my daily plastic water bottle waste back to zero and saved a lot of money in the process. Giving people water bottles as a present seems a bit weird, but if you’re struggling to find a gift for someone that’s very practical and has what they need, this might be a winner. I’m thirsty in every way, so I find the 1L bottles to be perfect.
Glossier: the most millennial of millennial beauty companies will be offering 20% off for Black Friday, which is rare. I’ve reviewed almost everything they make (I need to update this page to add the new releases, eep!), and my few favorites can be found here.
Holy Snails: my friend Chel makes skincare, including the famous Shark Sauce serum. It’s always a bit weird to recommend products made by someone that’s my actual friend, but Shark Sauce + Snowbang mixed together legit heal my skin when nothing else can and since everyone else in the world openly says they love Holy Snails, why can’t I? Original Shark Sauce and Snail Water (both versions) will be marked down to $25 from $29, Sheepish lip balm will be $4, Bon Ban sampler sets will be $30, rewards points are doubled, and free shipping limits will be dropped to $39 for orders in the US and $79 for worldwide. The sale starts at midnight CST on Friday, November 24 and runs through Monday, November 27.
Luckyscent: they don’t usually offer a discount for Black Friday or Cyber Monday, but they have offered bonkers gift-with-purchase sample sets in the past. The offer will require you to give up free shipping (since they allow one code per purchase), but if you’re a scent junkie and want to try lots of nice stuff, it’s super tempting. I did it last year, zero regrets. They have nice candles, too — I’m eyeing this Boy Smells set. Sign up for their newsletter to get the offer in your inbox when it drops.
Makeup Artist’s Choice: 30% Off Any Item with code thanksgiving2017 (lowercase). I love their 40% mandelic acid peel, recommended by Sheryll from the Wanderlust Project, and I’ll be looking to grab their pH prep solution during the sale.
Mishibox: the adorable K-beauty shop is offering 30% off your entire order using the code BFSALE2017 at checkout from now until Sunday, November 26, 2017. They carry Huxley and Skylake products, which I’m trying to talk myself out of snatching up.
Pat McGrath Labs: Metalmorphosis 005 is coming back and it’s going to be 40% (!!!!!!!!!!!) off! Here’s my post about the collection. I ended up loving the Gold 001 domed pigment and the eye marker the most. The eye marker got mixed reviews due to people finding that it smudged, but my eyes don’t make it smudgey and it’s dead easy to wing with.
Penzey’s Spices: this is where I buy all of my spices, including my holiday spices for making aggressively cozy pies and whatnot. They’re always running sales and GWP offers, so the Black Friday offer hasn’t been released yet, but sign up for their newsletter to get the alert when it pops up. For holidays, I stock up on the Vietnamese Cinnamon and Single Strength Vanilla; I love their house black pepper blend (it really does taste better than regular pepper) year-round.
Sephora: while the Beauty Insider, VIB, and VIB Rouge 15-20%-off sale is over, Sephora is offering some wild Black Friday mini gift sets. These will sell out fast. I believe they’re released at midnight PST on Friday. I have my eye on the It Cosmetics skincare set that include Miracle Water. These photos are from the preview in Sephora’s app.
