The blog is in the middle of something of a shadeparade, so let’s lighten things up with a bit of good, light-hearted, capitalistic fun: IT’S TIME FOR A HAUL POST!!!! WOO!
A BUNCH of things happened to arrive at my office yesterday and today; I think it’s just because Caleb the mailperson was out before or something. So YAY! Lots of stuff!
Oh, and I bought all of it, so feel free to shame my spending habits in comments. ahahahaha
MaskGenie Oriental Beauty 2 Pouch
PayPal tells me this was $26.50 (including shipping). In this pouch I received 10 sheet masks made of SILK from the Taiwanese brand Lovemore. As in…the sheets are made of silk. Silk! I’m, like, beyond excited by these masks and I’m not even a sheet mask addict. Umm…I need to get one of these on ASAP.
Aaaaaaand they’re amazing. Beautiful fit. So soft. Absolute perfection, why can’t every sheet mask be made of silk!?!?!? Perfect hydration–my skin has had its fill of the good stuff, but it isn’t drunk or suffocated. Well, I’m ruined, awesome.
Level of good I feel about this purchase: off the charts HAUL YES!
This box arrived today and I’m so happy to see it. 3B (Beauty Beyond Borders) is a $12-per-month Asian beauty subscription box that has mainly been kbeauty-focused. They started in December and I’ve been a [happy] subscriber since then.
The 3B Box comes with a Birchbox-esque info card that helpfully spells out the names of the products and their values.
Skinfood Argan Oil Shampoo
This deluxe sample seems quite substantial (it should wash my mega thick, fairly long hair a few times) and it smells good. Awesome, I’m happy about this.
Etude House Precious Mineral Perfect Fit BB Cream in W13
I’ve tried this bb cream and it’s too dark for me and I don’t like the feel of it, but it seems like a nice thing to throw in for a friend’s “welcome to kbeauty!” care package.
Its Skin Mangowhite Lip & Eye Remover Tissue
I actually busted these open already to do a bit of swatch cleanup. They’re cool because they’re actually oily-feeling, so it’s like first-step cleansing in a wipe. I am not going to give up my oil cleansers in favor of wipes, but this is great for grabbing stray lip and eye makeup or for when I’m taking photos of swatches in my office. Rock on.
A’Pieu Finger Blusher in CR02
This is a creamy blusher that you can apply with your fingers, believe it or not. I actually have a bunch of different types of this sort of product and they just don’t quite work for me (I prefer powder), but I think it’s a good choice for the bag. My cousin digs beauty products and liked kbeauty stuff I sent her before, so I’ll put this in her latest box from me.
Level of good I feel about this purchase: I feel good. My collection has reached the point where it may have reached saturation many times over, which makes boxes curated by other people a bit difficult to absorb without sending a lot of things to appreciative relatives, but I think that this is a good subscription, and especially good for those getting started in beauty or Korean beauty.
This is my second set of ten Sephora brand travel jars, on sale for $1 each. They’re surprisingly big (they hold 0.87 oz) and great for helping to distribute decanted favorites to people I like. I have Flash Shipping (free 2-day shipping on anything at Sephora), which makes this an especially good deal.
Sweetening the pot are three samples from Carven, Nars, and Dior.
The perfume smells really good actually (I’m SUPER picky about perfumes), the Nars concealer will be good to try at home, and the Dior lipstick sample is total beauty addict p0rn.
The Dior samples come in a paper handbag replica that has a magnetized closure. I mean…that attention to detail…wow. Fabulous.
Level of good I feel about this purchase: really good. I have practical tools (the jars) for sharing my overflow and I got some nice samples for me. Rock on.
I really dig KoreaDepart because it has a massive selection and fantastic prices. The shipping table is a bit difficult to understand at first, but registered mail shipping isn’t egregious. They’re sort of like my kbeauty “supermarket” right now.
You know I love these like I love cake omg. My face was SOOOO happy to see these. Honestly, I can’t deal without them. 1000% necessary. Here’s my review that explains why.
I see things like this and I have to buy it–I think it’s a side effect of having written about skincaretainment and amazing packaging.
Given that I have…a lot of cushions and an easy way to store refills minus the case in my workstation (where I apply my makeup), I’ve started buying the much cheaper refills rather than the whole cushion plus case, especially if I don’t know that the color will be a good match for me. This Innisfree summer cushion took first place in Beauty+’s summer cushion battle, so I’m really excited to see how it compares to my Lalavesi Spring/Summer cushion.
The swatch looks a bit deep and too yellow on my arm, but my face is actually much less pink–it’s neutral-to-slightly-yellow, so this may work. Looking forward to trying this.
I bought this cushion at the price of $5.22 plus shipping (the price has since gone up two dollars). That…is unreal, in my opinion, so I decided to give it a try.
I suspected from the moment I opened this that it would be too dark and yellow/orange-toned for me. I ripped off the sticker covering and used what was on there to swatch my arm.
In person this was a bit darker than the Innisfree cushion, so I’m going to send this to my mom to try–she has fallen in love with the pore camouflage aspect of cushions and I want to be able to help her find the right one. Right now she’s using (and loving) IOPE XP in 21, so it’s possible that this will be another hit for her.
This sheetmask actually has a masquerade ball mask design printed right on the sheet. Umm, yes, skincaretainment, please!
I honestly bought this because it looks like that muzzle thing Hannibal Lecter wore in Silence of the Lambs. Yeah, sure this mask exactly hits my skin problem areas, but HANNIBAL LECTER MASK, YO.
KoreaDepart has such a massive range of brands and products–their samples often end up being pretty unique and interesting–and this set is no exception. I’m looking forward to testing the Nature Republic Mud Foam Cleanser–it would be great if the pH were low.
Level of good I feel about this purchase: great! Nice haul for cheap!
I also received a set of 10 samples of Too Cool for School’s Fresh Gore sleeping pack!
I ordered this set of 10 samples on eBay two weeks ago from one of RoseRoseShop’s eBay stores and it already reached me! The pack apparently looks like blood–I had to try it upon hearing that hahaaha. I’ll report on my tests on the fanstagram.
Level of good I feel about this purchase: gory! EEE!
