This is the final shop visit post from my recent visit to Flushing, Queens. To check out my photos of Skinfood, The Face Shop, Nature Republic, and Amore [Pacific] Everyday check out the NYC Shop Reviews tab under K-Beauty in NYC.
Club Clio is the store that really made my heart beat faster. I talk a lot about skincare on fan-b, but the truth is that skincare is a necessity due to my skin’s utter and total breakdown a few years ago. My true love is actually makeup. Bold, glittery, bright makeup. Visiting Club Clio was like, I dunno, getting to visit Disneyland as a kid: I was running around swatching like mad, unable to focus because everything is so so pretty.
I sometimes hear from fans of kbeauty that they love Korean skincare, but not Korean makeup. This is the brand to change your mind. I mean, girl, don’t let that Shara Shara trash eyeliner from Memebox 15 put you off Korean makeup when there is actual premium stuff to be had. As everyone who has ever followed me on Instagram knows, I lusted HARD after the Spring/Summer Clio mini Gel Presso Waterproof Pencil set and I was over the moon to get it in the MWAVE Get K-Beauty Box.
Being in the store itself presented temptation every way I turned, but I did my best to keep under control so I’d have something to buy next time. sob I’m going to blow so much cash at this shop, I can feel it.
While at the store an employee shared that there will be a new Club Clio flagship store opening at Union Square in November. OMG YESSSS! I mentioned that I’d be happy to let my readers know about any upcoming events or promotions and I received a message just today that there is something going on (which reminded me to finally post this!): Club Clio is hosting a Halloween Beauty and the Creep Makeover Event at the Roosevelt Store on Thursday and Friday this week (30 and 31 October). You can go to the shop in your costume and get makeup service highlighting one feature for $30 (it comes with a gift bag–I’m ALL about the gift bag, tbh) or you can buy $50 worth of products and pay $30 to get a full makeover (this service comes with a gift bag and a mini makeup kit–AWESOME). Given Clio’s and Peripera’s range of waterproof and dramatic liners and tints, this sounds like a really good way to make sure that your face is still in place by the 4:45am stop at the diner for ill-advised waffles.
You can find more info about the Beauty and the Creep Event on the Club Clio USA Facebook page here (their Facebook homepage is here). Club Clio USA is also active on Twitter and Pinterest. They actually have a US-based online shop that you can find here, too. I say all of this and I feel like I’m leading you into danger because once I fell in lust with this brand I basically opened a hole in my pocketbook due to a consuming need for glitter and shimmer. You have been warned: all of this will be extremely tempting. You heard my scream when I felt the Peripera Smoothie buttery, no-budge waterproof liner from the Peach and Lily box? Yeah, that will be you. ahahahah
I’m going to post my photos from the shop, then show off my lil’ haul, and then show you the fun samples I received with my purchase. YUM YUM YUM. Ahh–but first! Since it sounds like Club Clio sort of maybe wants to be friends with fan-b and I might be able to ask them all kinds of things or get special info or see cool stuff and post it on the blog: is there anything you’re dying to know about? Products you are curious about? Things you want to see more of? Ask away–I’m happy to do Club Clio fanservice!
My Mini Haul
So…give me an excuse to talk to Club Clio USA by asking some questions or something and I’d be happy to provide some answers! haahahah
