I’m currently obsessed with healthy living, so consider this a “fan-e” post (all about achieving an A++ booty).
If you’ve been following my Instagram Stories, you might be needing to make that cauliflower crust pizza from Sunday night. Even if you’re not following my IG Stories, you might want this recipe anyway! It’s a gluten-free, low-carb, veg-loaded take on pizza crust and it’s so good! Here’s the recipe.
Lipstick League question of the week: Name three skincare products you’re currently loving
I’m going to adapt this to talk about workout-related product loves because that’s kind of my world at the moment. Some backstory: I’m incredibly lazy, so I have an elliptical in my dining room so that I have no excuses about skipping workouts. This mini post isn’t really about dealing with the gym locker room or getting home with sweaty skin.
My sweat strategy, by the way, is to get a ton of warm water on my face asap after stepping down. I then dry my skin with a paper towel (I’m skeptical as hell about the cleanliness of regular towels). With that done, I can hold off on a shower until after cooking or whatnot and my skin feels fine. I try not to over-wash my skin even though I use gentle products.
I bought a sample of this on eBay and I’m SO impressed! It’s a cleansing balm that melts down to be the liquidiest balm I’ve ever used. I grab this before working out to remove makeup fast and don’t bother with a second cleanse until I hit the shower post-workout because it cleans and emulsifies so well for me. Keep in mind that it does contain polyethylene, the microplastic resin that’s in every single emulsifying cleansing balm I’ve ever tried (those without seem to require the use of a muslin cloth for removal).
OMG these products are such a treat after I’ve sweat through my hair. I really don’t like washing my hair so frequently, but trust me, no choice these days. My custom Function of Beauty shampoo and conditioner smell freaking amazing and sort of perfume the whole house. My hair profile was “wavy + medium+ normal”. I went with hair goals “soothe scalp+ nourish roots+ deep condition+ replenish hair+ color protection” and selected the grapefruit hibiscus (medium intensity) for my bottles. I’m going to change up the scent next time so the experience remains fresh, but the quality of the formula is great. I haven’t tested how the products work with several days between washings on my scalp because I work out almost every day, but this combo almost hit the legendary Lador LPP (RIP original formula, sob) hair smoothing level when used in combination. The shampoo is ultra concentrated while I wish the conditioner were a bit thicker. I don’t find that these products cause clogged pores or rough patches on my back like other shampoos and conditioners. You can get $5 off your custom formulas with my referral link.
I’m not really a lotion person (it feels weird to me), but daaaaaaaaamn I love a nice acid wipe-down. These pads are a cost-effective, convenient way to get some acid on areas that tend to turn slugey without help. I like using them on my underarms post-shower especially, but they can go almost anywhere. Paula’s Choice used to make amaaazing lactic acid wipes that were my world, so until I find something like that, these are filling in. I’ve also used Peter Thomas Roth’s Un-Wrinkle Peel Pads the same way, but they’re a lot more money and still can’t reach the greatness of the PC KP Treatment Cloths (RIP).
Anyone else have some workout-related faves? I’m really new to this, so I’m super curious to hear how seasoned sweat veterans (sweaterans?) have used products to motivate and problem solve.
