Welcome to the weekend fan-b roundup!
First off, can we admire this Star Wars sheet mask??
A’pieu has a bath bomb out (!!!) that appears to be cheap and Lush-like. Right now they only have rosemary, so I’ll skip it (I’m allergic), but I am 10000% excited about affordable kbeauty bath products.
Why is my address on the internet?!
This is a weird topic for a beauty blog to cover, but I feel like it would be wrong to keep this info to myself.
I got a shock the other day when I realized how much info about me is available just by googling. People finder sites share info such as your current and past addresses, birth date, living relatives, and telephone number with anyone that has a search bar, sometimes at no charge. Here’s a Medium post I wrote with information about how to opt out and a look at the letter I’m sending my representatives to ask them to support legislation that would regulate the data broker industry so we don’t have to opt out of 272 individual sites.
Tell me in the comments: What should I do for a Paula’s Choice giveaway?
I have a pile of credit at Paula’s Choice and I’m not certain how to do a giveaway with it, so I’m asking for advice. Here are the options:
- Give the winner a set amount of money (like, $250) to spend. The risk is that some items may be sold out when they place their “order” through me. My credit is through the PC USA site, so if the winner is based outside the US, they’d need to wait for their haul to reach me and then be shipped out to them (it could end up taking, like, two months for their stuff to arrive).
- Give away products selected by readers in the comments below, order them in advance and have them at fan-b HQ when the giveaway starts, and ship them myself (this is what I usually do to avoid giveaway packages taking, like, two months to reach people who live outside the US or not being able to actually give the giveaway item).
I’m kinda on the fence here, so tell me what you think would make the winner happiest.
Discounts for New Customers
If you need a discount code and you’re a new customer, certain shops and services offer a discount to help make your first time special. heh
receive cash back when shopping online for beauty (and other things) at stores like Sephora, Nordstrom, and eBay. This isn’t a first-time customer discount, but I’m kind of obsessed with Ebates and use it constantly.
If for some reason you don’t have a PayPal account, you can receive $5 for creating one.

Coupon Codes for Not Just New Customers
These codes only work for one person before they’re gone, since they’re from my own stash.
The blog earned these codes due to people using my referral links^^ to make a first purchase at certain shops (THANK YOU!); think of this as sharing the love back.
Codes are obviously first come, first…discounted and I’d appreciate if they’re not taken out and shared elsewhere since they’re from my personal stash and meant to be a thank you for my blog readers (but linking to the post is fine if you want to share).

The Lipstick League – week of 1.16.16
Question of the Week: What sort of beauty trends do you predict will be popular in 2017?
Hmmmmm. I feel like Beauty Pie and other brands that contribute to the desacralization of beauty products have the potential to be huge. Makeup isn’t religion, it doesn’t need to be precious and expensive; it just needs to work. The Ordinary is sort of the skincare equivalent except that I find their formulas quite lacking. I also think that old school, glossy, less opaque lipstick is bound to return. I’ve loved Dior’s Rouge Baume lipsticks for awhile, and I suspect people outside of the top 1% of makeup obsessives would find them just really damn pleasant to wear.
Clumps of Mascara – ZOYA’s nail polishes are one thing. But ZOYA’s lipsticks? Oh.my.goodnessss…
EauMG – These days niche perfumes are more popular than ever. It seems like there is a new brand launched daily. Well, let’s take a sniff of an OG niche perfume launched in ‘97 that’s still delightfully weird and wearable.
fanserviced-b – Wondering if you should save up for the next ultra luxurious Caroline Hirons x Cult Beauty Box? I have a review of the latest one.
Gouldylox – Even if you don’t have insurance, you can still up your style game with new glasses. Guess who’s got the deets you need to game the system?
Nouveau Cheap – What to know my very favorite drugstore beauty product of 2016? Well just click right here.
Phyrra – Looking for a comfortable liquid lipstick? I’ve got the new Urban Decay Vice Liquid Lipsticks to show you! See which shades are must-haves and which to skip.
Prime Beauty – Satisfy your sweet tooth with the Deluxe Whoopie Pie Gift Set from FarmHouse Fresh!
we heart this – Gingerbread, Matcha Tea and Raw Mint…it’s as delicious as it sounds, and it’s just one of the BPAL Yule scents that is a legit must-have.
Beautygeeks – has found the best sunglasses for a beach vacation, especially if you’re sick of shades that suction themselves to your cheeks – and they’re super affordable!
Beauty Junkies Unite – Amber spoke to a dozen beauty junkies, just like you — who told her all about their favorite facial mists that are great multi-taskers for hydration, reducing skin inflammation, and for prepping and setting makeup. See which ones made the cut!
Blushing Noir – Finding a decent cream highlight and contour product is a STRUGGLE. In this post I’ve picked a few favorites that are affordable and a few that are a bit more pricey.
Clumps of Mascara is Currently Craving: Everything Sunday Riley. I’ve been serious about my skincare game and Sunday Riley has reeled me in with almost every product.
